Ray Dobson on Minnie

Ray Dobson was the eldest son of Charles and Charlotte ("Queenie") Dobson. Doug was a great rider and played with the Corhanwarrabul Pony Club founded by Lieutenant Colonel George Knox. The team played its matches at the Knox family property, Kent Park. Ray and Alan Keogh were both presented with polo ponies by the Governor of Victoria. Ray's horse was named Negress; (his own polo pony was Tony). This photo was taken at Lynburn, the home of Queenie Dobson's parents in Ferntree Gully Road, Ferntree Gully.
