Doug stands beside the concrete base of a since demolished shower block. All of the huts were sold to eager purchasers as soon as the camp was vacated after the repatriation of the final lot of Italian POWs in 1946. Building materials were in very short supply at the end of the war. One of the huts was re-erected in Dandenong to house a dry cleaning business.
