Miss Mary Gunn passed away on 7 January 2002 at the age of 90. Miss Gunn was the housekeeper at Stamford Park for its owner, the late Alfred Stevens, for about 30 years from the late 1950s to 1987. Their stories were related with affection by Alfred's nephew, Michael Stevens, in the 'Local History' articles in the News in September and October 2000.
