DIANE WILLIAMS
Tribute to Former Resident
At the recent R-LC News Annual Reception a minute's silence was observed in memory of former Taylors Lane resident, Diane Williams. Former News committee member, Faye Saric, read the following tribute: “I believe that there are a number of people here tonight that knew Diane Williams who was a committee member of the Rowville-Lysterfield Community News in the early to mid 1990s before moving to Narre Warren. In fact it was on that committee that I met Diane and although I moved to Healsville in 1995 we kept in touch throughout the years. Diane was a very talented person and was highly prolific with her craft and dressmaking. I don't know how she found time to be on any committees but she did. She was one of a number of helpers as well as a successful competitor at the inaugural R-LC News Art and Craft Show at Stamford House. Sadly Diane passed away in February 2002 after having been diagnosed with leukaemia eight months prior. Diane underwent treatment and won the battle against leukaemia but her bone marrow had been affected. She kept a positive attitude throughout her illness but passed away just short of her 54th birthday."
