Former long time Rowville resident, Pat Doolan, died in Queensland on 12 November following a short illness.
Pat and her husband Denis were the last dairy farmers in Rowville and raised their family of six children on the property which is now part of the Pioneer Concrete land on the slopes of the Lysterfield Hills.
Denis was an outstanding sportsman and became a leading figure with both the Rowville Cricket and Football Clubs. Pat was a great support for Denis and also her sons who played for both clubs as well. In addition, Pat shared her time with her daughters when they played with the Rowville Netball Club.
After Denis's death in 1983 life was difficult for Pat and, after 31 years in Rowville, she moved to Emerald in Queensland to be with her daughter Colleen. Pat enjoyed a very happy time in her new state where she was later joined by other members of her family.
Pat is survived by her children: Brian, Colleen, David, Michael, Jennie and Denis, sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
